SnapTech launches Zim branch
INTERNATIONAL training and consultancy firm, Snap Tech International has launched its Zimbabwe branch on growing positive investor sentiment.
The firm, based in Zimbabwe, with a global footprint, assists companies with project management and turn around strategies.
In an interview, Snap Tech International chief executive officer Guy Easto said prior change in the country’s administration last November, it was difficult to set up businesses in the country due to regulatory bottlenecks.
He added the country had vast untapped investment opportunities which created scope for launching Snap Tech Zimbabwe.
“We have seen a lot of opportunities here. What we have also seen so far is that Zimbabwe is indeed now open for business, before the new President, it wasn’t open,” he said.
Prior to the launch of the Zimbabwe unit, Snap Tech International did consultancy work for the banking sector in Zimbabwe but had not been able to set up shop in the country.
Snap Tech Zimbabwe country director Dakarai Kuhlengisa said calls by President Emmerson Mnangagwa for Zimbabweans to work together to rebuild the country and invitation to investors was a positive move that inspired business growth in the country.
“The call by our President for change and the declaration that Zimbabwe is open for business is a massive integrated project that requires the necessary project management skills in order to meet the objectives within the expected time-frames and it is our honest and sincere belief that they will be serious skills gaps in both the private and public sector for ensuring that this massive project is managed adequately,” he said.
Snap Tech trains businesses in all sectors in project management as well as ensuring companies are running the right programmes at a particular time.
Mr Easto revealed that, the Zimbabwe chapter, which had already received interest from local companies, was targeting both the private and public enterprises in need of programme management skills and solutions specific to the problems Zimbabwean industries face.
“We do both training and change management, we train companies to use those skills within their organizations to evoke transformational change. Snap Tech Zimbabwe will learn from the group and use their resources in the meantime until they can operate on their own,” he said.
SnapTech, which is head-quartered in South Africa has been operating for 27 years with businesses in South Africa, with presence in Kenya, West Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Europe and Australia.
