ALL is set for Zimpapers Masterclass High Tea set for Zimparks Gardens in Harare on Saturday.
Running under the theme “I’m My Sister’s Keeper”, the event is expected to draw women from diverse backgrounds to share experiences and learn from each other as they celebrate International Women’s Month.
Zimpapers Group corporate events manager Ms Jackie Kathemba, who organised the event, said all scheduled speakers had confirmed participation.
Environment, Water and Climate Minister Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri, who has been actively involved in the empowerment and emancipation of women, will deliver the keynote address.
Ms Marjorie Mutemererwa, Seed Co Group’s head of public relations and marketing, is scheduled to deliver a motivational speech, while NetOne marketing and PR executive Dr Eldrette Shereni is expected to share her experience as a woman in leadership.
NMB marketing manager Ms Lindiwe Thebethebe will address women and money, while senior partner with T Pfigu Legal Practitioners Advocate Tatenda Pfigu will speak on women and the law.
SAFAIDS executive director Mrs Loice Chingandu will talk about women and wellness, while Ms Beatrice Tonhodzayi, who is also Zimpapers public relations manager, will talk about women in the media.
“Traditionally, women are known for not supporting each other, but we want to show through this event that it is actually possible for women to nurture each other as we join the rest of the world in celebrating the International Women’s Day,’’ Ms Kathemba said, adding that the response to the event had been overwhelming.
“The response so far from fellow women is encouraging and we urge those who have not yet shown their commitment to attending the function to do so immediately to avoid last minute rushes,” said Ms Kathemba.
Hundreds of women from diverse backgrounds are expected to attend the event.
Individual tickets are selling at $35 a table, while a table of 10 costs $300.
