- Michael Magoronga and Munyaradzi Musiiwa

FIRST Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa yesterday offered to serve everyone, including those across the political divide, as she seeks to unite people as the mother of the nation.

She made the remarks yesterday while addressing thousands of villagers at a field day at the First Family’s Pricabe Farm in Sherwood, at in the outskirts of Kwekwe.

The First Lady, who vowed to concentrate on her duties as mother of the nation, implored Zimbabweans to remain united and peaceful as disunity works against development.

“I am a mother of the nation; no one is barred from contacting me.

“I believe most of you here have my mobile number that you can use to contact me at any given time; I can be contacted at any time,” she said.

She said It was incumbent upon every Zimbabwean to ensure that there was peace in the country, including complementing Government efforts to rebuild the economy.

“When I heard of this function, I came to prepare food for everyone who is here. You should eat and enjoy what your mother has prepared for you.

“In case you need anything here, just use my phone number to call me.”

Most notably, the First Lady indicated she was ready for the challenge that comes with her role.

Speaking at the same occasion, Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Cde Owen Ncube said the First Lady was a philanthropist and selfless person.

“We want to thank you mother for showing your unselfish side.

“You showed how important the people of Zimbabwe are. You chose dedicating your time playing your motherly role rather than being in Parliament,” said Cde Ncube.

The First Lady recently stepped down as Member of Parliament for Chirumanzu-Zibagwe constituency.
