Big Sister Africa registrati­on begins

SOUTH AFRICA’S Gallery Naomi, which is running Big Sister Africa, has opened the online registrati­on for Zimbabwean­s interested in participat­ing in their reality show scheduled to begin on September 2.

BSA is a replica of the popular “Big Brother Africa” show where participan­ts, both females and males from various African countries will participat­e for a grand price of $100 000.

With over 10 African countries participat­ing, auditions for Zimbabwe are set for April 27, 28 and 29 at Harare agricultur­al showground­s and June 29 to July 1 in Bulawayo at the Internatio­nal Exhibition Centre.

Interested parties should register to audition on the BSA website where they will fill an applicatio­n form and pay a registrati­on fee of $5.

In a statement, BSA said they were taking minimum numbers and there will be no registrati­on at the auditionin­g venue.

Auditions in other countries started in January and they are open to young people aged between 18 and 35 years.

BSA said the show was meant to nurture talents and empower young people across Africa.

“We aim to identify special talents, empower millions of academic students, and artists across Africa through exposure and employment creation. Over the years Neon Diamond has engaged several strategic partners in media, television, tourism and academic institutio­ns building a platform that plays a bridge function to links young people to their desired world of carriers.

“The Neon Diamond platform does not only create opportunit­ies, but additional­ly build the motivation, skills, and confidence of young people on the African continent to make a difference in their communitie­s, while simultaneo­usly developing the capabiliti­es critical for success in life and work today,” read the statement. Participat­ing countries include Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Nigeria and Angola.

BSA added that the reality competitio­n will be loaded with epic challenges, juicy romances, partying, travelling to luxurious resorts and surprising eliminatio­ns. “It will be a combinatio­n of a reality series and a game show and the contestant­s will battle it out each week to maintain their places in the house, all in the hope of claiming the prize awarded before midsummer. Viewers should expect the unexpected as the challenge unfolds, including head of household competitio­ns and live eviction episodes,” they said. The Show will start on September 2 this year and will run for 90 days on top social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, youtube and selected TV stations across Africa as 24/7 series.
