Dangote executives hail Govt

DANGOTE Group executives, who have been in the country for the past 10 days, said they were happy with the support that they had received from Government.

In a statement yesterday, Dangote Zimbabwe representa­tive Ms Josey Mahachi said the group left the country yesterday after meeting with various private sector stakeholde­rs, mining executives, the Buy Zimbabwe team, Government officials and Mines and Mining Developmen­t Minister Winston Chitando.

“The Dangote Group has been in the country for 10 days and they left in the early hours of 19th April 2018, their interest is in power generation and mining,” she said.

This was the group’s second visit as they continue to look for investment opportunit­ies in the country.

“This is the second visit by this technical group showing interest in investing in Zimbabwe.

“The new dispensati­on and its “Zimbabwe is open for business” policy has given hope for accelerati­ng investment­s,” said Ms Mahachi.

The executives from Dangote Group, she added, were pleased by the support they got from Government officials and will soon give an appraisal about their proposed investment­s.

“The visits were most insightful and the team was pleased by what they saw and was most appreciati­ve of the support and discussion with the Honorable Minister of Mines, (Mr) Winston Chitendo,” she said.

“A further update will be provided in due course. We wish to record our appreciati­on to all stakeholde­rs who made the visit a success.

“Lastly, I want to thank the media and Buy Zimbabwe for their utmost support.”
