@HeraldZimbabwe Response to “Gwayi-Shangani Dam project takes off” One step at a time eventually, we will get there. — @Pupurai. *** Response to “Govt legalises mbanje farming” This was long overdue. We need to create the market structures to extract value from it. In terms of legislation, this is progressive and well appreciated. —@ TapiwaMubonderi. *** Response to “College enrolment up 10pc” Progressive move by the Minister, I support it. — @LotChitakasha. The Herald — Zimbabwe Responses to “Govt legalises

mbanje farming” The government could consider creating marijuana (Export) Processing Zones. These will be controlled areas that produce and process marijuana not only for medicinal and scientific use, but also for the export market. Legalising recreational use of marijuana in Zimbabwe would also positively impact on the Zimbabwe tourism sector. We would then become the first African country to legalise recreational use of marijuana. Use of the drug in Zimbabwe is more of a public secret. The world is already moving in that direction. As of 2018, some of the countries with the latest cannabis laws are Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, India, Israel, Jamaica, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Uruguay, and some US jurisdictions. — Lloyd Fera. It is good to note that ZANU-PF primary elections are going on peacefully. This shows that it is a peaceful party. If violence occurs in the upcoming presidential elections, we know it is the oppositions. — Aaron Misihairambwe. www.herald.co.zw Responses to “Govt legalises

mbanje farming” From an economic perspective, this is progressive. Zimbabwe’s economy greatly benefited from tobacco when it was in high demand worldwide. Now tobacco is a dying industry, while marijuana is being legalised for medicinal and even recreational use in the Western world. The economic benefit we will lose from the decline of tobacco could be more than made up for by production of marijuana to satisfy its growing demand in the international market. We don’t need to legalise it here, but we can sell to those countries who want it, just like we did with tobacco. Marijuana’s revenue potential may be greater than tobacco, and we do need more products to export to generate forex. — Tendai Moyo.

*** This is why I have always supported President Mnangagwa. We are the pioneers in Southern Africa. This is very commendable and will increase tourism massively. Well done. I am going to get my licence this week. Cannabis is very useful for many medical reasons. — Dzasukwa Mwanaasina Hembe. *** Response to “COMMENT: Zim rugby revival well, truly on Good leadership brings results. It is also important as you pointed out to have former legends of the game involved; they understand the game and they have the passion. — Lot Chitakasha. *** Response to “Fired nurses withdraw High Court challenge” Nurses should understand whether they are being used by organisations or not. They are learning the hard way. Next time another sell out asks them to strike or demonstrate the imbeciles will run a mile. — Truthhurts.
