- Herald Reporter

THE people of Gokwe Central have vowed to vote overwhelmingly for ZANU-PF presidential candidate Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa and his representative for the area, Cde Victor Matemadanda.

Cde Matemadanda will be contesting for the seat in the coming harmonised elections after emerging the victor in the just-ended primary elections.

Several party chairmen in the district said they were happy that Cde Matemadanda is a member of the ZANU-PF Politiburo and has the capacity to develop the constituency.

Davison Masvisvi of Central B District said they will vote for President Mnangagwa and Cde Matemadanda for the development of the constituency.

“The news of the new dispensation has come as good news to us because we have been looked down upon for long and we have all agreed to put our vote on ED and Matemadanda,” he said.

Others said they have taken Cde Matemadanda’s advice to vote for President Mnangagwa.

Gwasa Mike of Central A said Cde Matemadanda was clear that Cde Mnangagwa can deliver if they vote for him.

Chief Njelele said he was happy that people in Gokwe are taking heed to calls by Cde Matemadanda to vote for President Mnangagwa in the coming election.

“Cde Matemadanda has called the people to elect a leader who can foster development here and we are happy they want Cde Mnangagwa to be their President and to be their representative,” he said.

Cde Matemadanda said he was simply delivering President Mnangagwa and the new political dispensation’s vision.

“Our people have been neglected by the people of the G40 cabal who were only concerned about their self-enrichment.

“We are now good to go and our President has told us that he wants our people to be looked after.

“He wants development in our respective areas.

“We will do that and encourage our people to understand that President Mnangagwa is the man,” he said.
