Zim: US-EU imperialism on the back foot

FROM the moment former president Robert Mugabe resigned from office, many of Zimbabwe’s friends and foes alike were guilty of going completely overboard with their analysis and prognostications.

Because of how Zimbabwe’s Government and ruling party handled the dispensation process, one of the big- gest myths propagated by the US-EU imperialist media apparatus was forever laid to rest.

Since Zimbabwe’s 2013 harmonized elections, US-EU imperialism’s fraternity of think tanks along with the political party they invented in their laboratory - the MDC - and the 400 civil societies whose neo-colonialist disposition is a direct product of their financiers, the redundant theme of this political chorus kept on singing that ZANU-PF lacked a succession plan.

This propaganda assault waged by US-EU imperialism on Zimbabwe’s Government and ruling party showed the world that the methodology and blueprint described by Adolf Hitler in his autobiography “Mein Kampf” was truly alive and well.

When explaining the intentions of the Nazi party’s propaganda offensive, Hitler stated: “Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and insofaras it is favourable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice, yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favourable to its own side. The receptive powers of the masses are very restricted, and their understanding is feeble. On the other hand, they quickly forget.”

This sophisticated yet devious approach by Hitler, whose quest to dominate and rule the world, has been inherited and expanded upon by US-EU imperialism, and clearly explains why they were hell-bent on convincing not only African people but the entire world that Zimbabwe’s Government and people were not adequately prepared for former president Mugabe’s departure.

The truth of the matter is US-EU imperialism’s goal was to bring about Mugabe’s removal from office by one way only - an illegal racist white supremacist regime change that would have resulted in ZANU-PF being driven to the political graveyard, and forever erased from history by those who curse the very day they were created to defend Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The so- called African- American media who have a tendency to regurgitate the narrative of the US-EU imperialist media apparatus and the US State Department must heed the warning of Dr Martin Luther King in his book “Where Do We Go From Here?”: “Too many Negro newspapers have veered away from their traditional role as protest organs agitating for social change, and have turned the sensational and the conservative in place of the substantive and the militant.”

Since the political change occurred in Zimbabwe, all questions and conspiracies have been answered concerning succession and life after Mugabe, and to the chagrin of US-EU imperialism, ZANU-PF remains in power with no immediate threat in the foreseeable future.

Mother Africa’s children at home and abroad are all too familiar with the adage, be careful what you asked for. However, President Mnangagwa’s approach to being at the helm can be best described by the Shona proverb: “Charovedzera charovedzera, gudo rakakwira mawere kwasviba.”

When translated, it simply means “one who is used to something is one who is used to it, the baboon climbed the precipice in the dark”. The essence of this proverb is we do easily that to which we are accustomed.

President Mnangagwa has forced ZANU-PF to take a long look in the mirror and admit many comrades had not only, as he eloquently put it, accepted defeat on the basis of sanctions, but were not the least bit interested in devising a foolproof plan with solidarity and support workers in the US and EU to have them lifted once and for all.

hen approached to discuss an agenda to fight and defeat US-EU sanctions on Zimbabwe, those in the G-40 cabal were too often always conveniently wrapped up in meetings, which in the final analysis was a microcosm of the facade that led to the masses of Zimbabwe losing total confidence in them.

Using the banner of Zimbabwe’s Third Chimurenga, these opportunist and reactionary forces were naive enough to think paying lip service to fighting sanctions would divert attention away from their corruption and negligence. This is similar to how US-EU imperialism thought the propaganda assault on former president Mugabe and ZANU-PF would force Africans worldwide to overlook the damage to basic infrastructure and the economy that US-EU sanctions continue to cause.

What spells trouble throughout the SADC region, which after all represents a microcosm of the African world in its entirety, are their citizens between the ages of 30 and 50 who feel the need to masquerade as the new guard of front- liners who are upholding the legacy of pan-African revolutionaries.

Only a few weeks ago on the other side of the Limpopo River, we saw the founder of the Economic Freedom Fighters and former ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema putting on an Oscar award-winning performance at the funeral of Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, banging on the podium and paying lip service to our fallen comrade and sister’s life and legacy.

This is the same Malema who used photo- ops with former president Mugabe to bolster his political status in South Africa, and then did what Africans in the Diaspora call a complete 180, by stating everything beautiful in Zimbabwe is Chinese.

The question is how could Malema, who during his camera-seeking political outbursts, is always screaming about reclaiming the land in South Africa, not find beauty in Zimbabwe’s land reclamation programme?

The answer is if Malema was Zimbabwean, more than likely he would have been part of the G40 cabal, whose trademark was to wear ZANU-PF regalia at party functions and shout for all to hear “Pamberi neChimurenga”, the same way Malema wears his red tam and EFF costume for visual effect before changing back into his custom-made suits and ties. This would be comparable to, if the daughter of former president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Isabel dos Santos, were to shout “Aluta continua”, knowing the main slogan of their revolution has nothing to do with her US$ 3 billion in the bank.
