DAIRIBORD Five-Aside team, who were crowned the Castle Lager 5’s champions at RBZ Sports Club in the capital on Sunday, will represent Zimbabwe at the regional finals in Lusaka, Zambia, from May 24-26.

The finals were played on Saturday and Sunday and saw Dairibord winning 4-3 against Titans. For their efforts the team, which had former CAPS United player Danger Fourpence and his brother Farai, walked home $200 richer.

Titan received $150 while Wale from Bulawayo went home $100 richer.

The teams were drawn from several provinces with Harare represented by Mabelreign Sharks, DStv Rovers, Titans and Dairibord.

Terence Kanjanda, the Dairibord head captain, said they will start training today and they were looking forward to the finals in Zambia.

“We started the team in 2016 as a six-member club and we have managed to grow by competing in several tournaments. We have good players who work hard like Danger Fourpence, who has experience having played for Premiership sides CAPS United and Triangle.

“We look forward to the finals in Zambia where I believe we are going to do well,” said Kanjanda.

The brewing company is working with continental luminary and legendary Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto’o as their prime ambassador while former Warriors star, Tinashe “Father’’ Nengomasha, one of an elite group of Zimbabwean footballers to take part at the Nations Cup finals, fronts the local programme.

The tournament is run across six countries in Africa, including Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, who have their own ambassadors in Lehlohonolo Seema (Lesotho), Christopher Katongo (Zambia), Siza Dlamini (Swaziland); Brian Baloyi (South Africa) and Ivo Mapunda (Tanzania).
