Warriors victory brings pride to Zimbabwe

-

EDITOR — I would want to congratulate our national team and coach Sunday Chidzambwa, for raising the Zimbabwean flag high during the COSAFA games currently under way in South Africa.

There is nothing that can stop us from celebrating a battle half won.

It’s a tale of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Struggle is part of our nature and prosperity is always a product of our hard work.

If past generations sacrificed lives to secure us a home called Zimbabwe, why can’t present generations, led by our Warriors team, strive to bring the COSAFA Cup home? We need to have faith in our ability as sons and daughters of the soil.

There are those who suffer from national identity deficiency, Zimbabweans who have chosen to support other countries playing against our Warriors.

Now that our hopes and aspirations as Zimbabweans have been met, it is not easy for them to climb down from the tree of shame. They thought that as usual nothing good would come out of our Warriors.

Nevertheless, we pretend and look aside as we celebrate our victory together as a people of one nation.

Once again, congratulations Zimbabwe. Keep up the spirit.

Definitely we will reach the climax.

Pardon Makunike,

Zimre Park, Harare.
