You can overcome

-

Hebrews 4 vs 15; “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” HAVE you ever found yourself in the exact same mess that you told yourself you would never be in again? Those circumstances and issues that you said, “LORD if you just get me out of this, I will never do it again, please help me overcome.”

Then with the passage of time you find yourself caught up in the same issue again; it may involve different characters or be in a different time zone but it will be the same problem. Sometimes we behave like pigs. Soon after they have been cleaned up they will go back to the mud, just for the sake of it. We all make mistakes, if anything they are the hallmark of being human. However, like all good students, we are meant to graduate not regress.

Our fallibility and sense of sin somehow prevents us from achieving perfection within our character yet the same character allows for you to excel in other disciplines if you put your mind to it. Athletes can move from being ordinary to being extraordinary, just from regular practice and dedication.

Likewise, we have the ability to overcome our character and our circumstances through God’s will and grace and the dutiful exercise of training our minds to allow for something greater than the ordinary.

Have you just come out of a problem caused by your character and you are about to have yet another problem as a result of the same character trait? Make a conscious effort to say, “LORD help me to become a better person, give me the wisdom to make the right decisions at the right time.”

Be blessed.
