Ask God to speak to you

-

HAVE you ever noticed that sometimes when you are going through a difficult situation, you feel as if you are the only one dealing with that particular ordeal?

As you stress and languish over it, you ask the LORD why you are the only one who has to endure it, and why you, out of everyone in the world, has been given this cross to carry.

Somehow that’s not true; each and every day everyone has something they are dealing with, that you would never know until you engage them.

Recently, I was told the story of the lady who sells vegetables at the corner, next to my office.

This woman always has a pleasant smile and whenever I pass by, she always graciously gives me something from her wares, it’s her way of blessing me.

I learnt with sadness that despite this grace and smile, she has been enduring a load very few can carry. Her husband is seriously ill with a rare debilitating skin condition.

All her earnings go towards his upkeep, and over time the bills have been piling up and now she is indebted. Despite this, she wakes up each day, comes to work, does her bit, smiles, is nice to everyone, and at the end of the day she goes back to her cross.

You will never know about the problems that people have until you talk to them and get to know them.

So before you feel sorry for yourself, ask the LORD to show you where your experiences can be used to strengthen others and help them cope with their troubles.

More importantly, ask God to speak to you, and use you to minister and provide guidance and comfort to others. Empathise with someone today. Be blessed.
