Zim needs dedicated workforce: Kundiona

- Victor Maphosa Mash East Correspondent

THE new dispensation needs a dedicated and skilled workforce for Zimbabwe to achieve its economic development goals, Zanu-PF’s candidate for Marondera Central Constituency Cde Cleopas Kundiona, has said.

In an interface with civil servants held at Hopefay Hotel in Marondera last week, Cde Kundiona, who is an educationist and businessman, urged civil servants to give the new dispensation all their support for the development of Zimbabwe.

“I am grateful to be addressing you today. This is just a familiarisation interface so that we may know each other and work together.

“My appeal to you all is to support the new dispensation and our President ED Mnangagwa whose vision if supported by us all will transform our lives,” said Cde Kundiona.

He said civil servants must support Government programmes by working hard and shunning corruption.

“We can move positively as a nation if we can emulate our President’s approaches and work ethics. We heard him saying it is no longer business as usual, as such it has to be a no longer business as usual approach to be used by all of us and use our offices productively.

“On top of that, let us heed our President’s call to shun corruption. We do not need to be told that corruption is a deadly cancer, which destroys our future,” said Cde Kundiona.

Turning to the welfare of civil servants, Cde Kundiona said if elected he will advocate for better living standards for them.

“If you elect me come July 30, I promise you I will strongly advocate for better living standards for you. Even now before you put me in office, already I have embarked on various projects, which I am convinced will cater for some of your needs.

“We have secured undisputable land for housing stands and you as civil servants will be prioritised because you have lost a lot of money in search of land to build houses for many years,” he said.

Cde Kundiona said Government has identified suitable areas for the Command Housing Programme and civil servants must benefit.
