Vote for ED, youths told

- Sukoluhle Ndlovu Midlands Correspondent

YOUTHS in Midlands Province have been urged to rally behind the ruling party and secure their future through the ballot on July 30.

In an interview last week, Zanu-PF Midlands Youth chairperson Cde Edmore Samambwa, who is also the party’s candidate for Zhombe constituency, implored youths from the province to safeguard their independence that came through the protracted war of liberation by voting resoundingly for President Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF candidates.

“As the Youth League, we are urging youths from the province to deliver sweet victory for President Mnangagwa in the forthcoming harmonised elections slated for July 30. Our party is tried and tested and it has proven beyond doubt that it’s a party that has people’s interests at heart.

“We have empowered youths in various sectors like mining, politics and farming,” said Cde Samambwa.

He said youths were confident that they had managed to garner enough support for President Mnangagwa through the #EDhasMyVote campaign, which was launched in March.

“So far we have managed to mobilise youths to actively participate in the forthcoming harmonised elections through the #EDhasMyVote campaign, which we launched in March.

We have also been holding awareness campaigns conscientising the youths on the importance of exercising their democratic right by voting but also voting for President Mnangagwa and the ruling party,” said Cde Samambwa.

He said through the #EDhasMyVote campaign they had managed to persuade fence-sitting youths.

“Some youths do not participate in politics because they think politics is for old people. But, in actual fact, they are the ones who should be actively involved in order to safeguard the country. So we managed to convert many who will be voting for the party,” he said.
