Elements that can transform your life

-

ONE day as I was studying the woman with the issue of the blood in Mark 5, I realised that there are four lessons, all starting with the letter “P” that we can learn and help to transform our lives. In order to fully appreciate the story, I will just highlight verses 25-29.

“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years. And had suffered many things of many physicians, and spend all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. When she heard of Jesus, come in the press behind, and touched His garment. For she said, I shall be whole. And straight-way the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.” Mark 5: 25-29.

1. Prayer

The Greek version tell us that before the woman was healed, she was meditating repeatedly saying, “If I may touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed”. This was a silent but powerful prayer powered by faith. Most people wants a Pastor to lay hands on them and don’t have the confidence and/or power to pray for themselves. Yes you can be healed through a prayer by someone, by your prayer is powerful. When you pray, you are talking to God and I can guarantee, God listen and respond to prayers. Instead of talking negative things, why not pray and usher all your challenges to the Creator, to God who never fails. 2. Patience As mentioned before, the woman with the issue of blood suffered for 12 years, but she continued to believe that one day she will be well. The things you want may take time to come into fruition, but be patient. When you are praying and doing everything to make things happen and then you perceive that its fulfilment is delaying, you need to be patient. Life is not just about instant gratification, instant fulfilment, instant enjoyment — good things may take time to bear fruit. Bishop B Manjoro, Faith World Ministries.
