ZIMBABWEANS should give President Mnangagwa a fresh mandate to fully implement his economic vision by voting for him in the July 30 harmonised elections and for the country to retain a humble and God-fearing First Lady, Zion Christian Church (ZCC ) leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi has said.

First Lady Auxilia Mnangagwa was the guest of honour at the Integrated Schools Environment programme held at Mutendi High School last week, where Bishop Mutendi was speaking.

Bishop Mutendi said Zimbabweans should rally behind President Mnangagwa in the coming elections for the First Lady to continue in her role, which she was handling with distinction.

He said the First Lady was a gift from God because of her unparalleled humility. THE Presidential Inputs Support Scheme kicked off early this year to give smallholder farmers enough time to prepare for the 2018/19 agricultural season, Deputy Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Davis Marapira has said.

He said the initiative had nothing to do with vote buying as alleged by some political parties, but was purely a Government programme to empower communal farmers countrywide.

Deputy Minister Marapira made the remarks while addressing some of the beneficiaries at Muroyi Primary School in Zaka last week, where he handed over 26 tonnes of maize seed and 120 “We are lucky to have a mother who cares for all of us,” said Bishop Mutendi. “A mother who has people at heart. She is equally important as a gift from God.

“Let us pray for a resounding victory of President Mnangagwa as well as praying for him to have a long life so that the country continues to move forward under his visionary leadership.”

Bishop Mutendi said President Mnangagwa was a practical person who could further economically transform Zimbabwe if given a full mandate in the coming polls.

He said during the few months that President Mnangagwa has been in office, he introduced several policies that point to a great future for Zimbabwe.

“I have a feeling that once given his full mandate, he will then be able to build a Zimbabwe that will reflect his vision of a prosperous nation within the next 12 years,” said Bishop Mutendi.

The ZCC leader also paid tribute to the First Lady for her charity work around the country, which he said was a true reflection of servant leadership.

“God will never forsake us and the First Lady will remain in her position, but that can only happen if we vote for President Mnangagwa,” he said.

Bishop Mutendi urged Zimbabweans to remain vigilant and refrain from violence for the forthcoming elections to be free, fair and credible.

“We are living in a new dispensation where the President is always preaching the gospel of peace, unity and above all development,” he said.

“Violence should be condemned at all cost and it is a vice that must never be condoned. Let’s focus on uplifting the lives of people like what the First Lady is doing for the benefit of the nation.”

related sectors.

“Agricultural productivity is still a challenge in some areas due to a number of reasons among them the non-adherence to good agricultural practices,” said Cde Marapira. “One of the bad practices is late planting of crops necessitated by lack of inputs.

“As a Ministry, we decided to address the problem through early distribution of inputs. The scheme is meant to enable smallholder farmers to become food secure, at the same time addressing nutritional requirements at household level.”

Deputy Minister Marapira said the farmers should also register for Command Agriculture to boost agricultural productivity in their respective areas.
