ZNCC gears for secretaries’ indaba

- Manicaland Bureau

THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce has commenced preparations for this year’s annual secretaries’ convention in Beira, Mozambique, and a business award winners’ cocktail scheduled for the Golden Peacock Villa Hotel in Mutare next month.

ZNCC Manicaland and Chiredzi regional manager Ms Perpetual Guwila said they were expecting over 50 secretaries and personal assistants to attend this year’s convention.

“The winners’ cocktail is meant to bring together businesspersons, who excelled at this year’s business awards at provincial and national level,” she said.

“The cocktail is also part of a fund-raising initiative to enable the ZNCC Manicaland branch to construct a two-storey building, which they would use as their office premises.”

Cocktail

Some of this year’s national ZNCC business awards winners expected to attend the cocktail include Chimanimani-based businessperson Joshua Kurt Sacco, diamond mining company Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC), Africa University, Rateable Investments director Mrs Rachael Mugwagwa, ZCDC chief executive Dr Morris Mpofu.

“We have commenced preparations and we are happy with the support we have been getting from most companies in Mutare,” said Ms Guwila. “We are expecting more than 40 secretaries from several companies.

“Despite the liquidity challenges bedevilling most companies, secretaries and personal assistants remain vital cogs in organisations. These conventions aim to ensure that they remain professional and dedicated to their duties such as dealing with the public.”
