ZANU-PF aspiring Member of Parliament for Gokwe-Kabuyuni constituency, Cde Leonard (Bhuru) Chikomba has said he is confident of romping to victory in the harmonised elections to be held on July 30.

Gokwe Kabuyuni constituency is one of the hotly contested constituencies in the Midlands province with more than 10 candidates expected on the ballot.

In an interview on the side lines of a Zanu-PF campaign rally in Gokwe-Kabuyuni Constituency that was addressed by Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga last week, Cde Chikomba said the huge turn-out at the rally was evidence that the ruling party will have a clean sweep in the constituency.

“I am very happy with the turn out, as thousands and thousands of people have come to hear our Vice President speak and am happy that the people in my constituency, have shown how much they love their party by coming out in their numbers,” he said.

Cde Chikomba said Gokwe-Kabuyuni was one of the biggest constituencies in the Midlands province which will give President Emmerson Mnangagwa a significant number of votes in the province.

“It’s a Zanu-PF stronghold and every election we always produce the highest number of votes in the province and this year we will not disappoint,” he said.

Affectionately known as Bhuru at Chitekete Business Centre where he owns a chain of grocery and furniture shops, Cde Chikomba said he has been conducting village to village campaigns drumming up support for the revolution- ary party.

“We have campaign teams, which are conducting campaigns in every village and the situation on the ground is pointing to a sweet victory,” he said.

Cde Chikomba said he has also funded many projects in the drought prone constituency and was happy that the revolutionary party was planning to set up a ginnery in the area.
