ALL is set for the inaugural Miss Tyrone’s beauty pageant to be held at the Meikles Hotel, Harare, where 12 girls will tomorrow contest for the crown.

Winners will walk away with beauty spa vouchers and free grooming lessons. The pageant marks the launch of the organisation’s grooming, etiquette and deportment department where hairstylists, make-up artists, beauty therapists and nail technicians are expected to showcase their products and services. Event organiser Rumbidzai Njagu said rehearsals are in progress with everything set for the event.

“The event is being managed by Events Management. It is a red carpet affair and guests should dress accordingly. So far we are doing our rehearsals at East Point. We have performances by Twin-Star and Visionary management artists. We chose upcoming groups so as to give them a platform to shine. Our programme is short as we want to be straight to the point,” she said.

She said that current Miss Tourism Harare First Princess Nelia Marise will crown the winners.

“Our guest of honour is Indonesia deputy ambassador Partogi Samosir and the models will honour the Indonesian community as they will also showcase the Indonesian garments. The event is running under the theme, ‘Continuous empowerment of the girl child through hair and beauty therapy skills’. Some of the designers who are expected to showcase include Nolistio, Pleroo and Chiye among others,” she said.
