ZITF appoints acting GM
THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company has appointed its marketing executive Nicholas Ndebele as acting general manager following the resignation of Nomathemba Ndlovu on July 31 this year.
Mrs Ndlovu had been at the helm of the company for five years after taking over from Daniel Chigaru in 2013.
She leaves to pursue personal and business interests outside the country.
“While the Company is at an advanced stage of the recruitment process for a substantive chief executive to take over the reins from Mrs Ndlovu, the board has appointed the Company’s Sales Executive, Mr Nicholas Ndebele as the Acting General Manager with effect from 1 August 2018 until further notice,” said ZITF Company board chairperson Ruth Ncube.
Mr Ndebele, a business development specialist with over 15 years experience gained in the commercial and non-profit sectors, joined the ZITF Company in November last year.
He holds a Masters of Science in Marketing (NUST); an MBA (MSU) and is currently studying towards a PhD with the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) of the University of Pretoria.
Ruth Ncube said while the ZITF Company was sad to see Mrs Ndlovu go, her years of dedicated service at the company were hugely appreciated.
“Under her leadership, the Company has been recognised for both local and international business awards with the most recent being the ISO 9001:2015 certification which was accorded at a ceremony held on April 25,” she said.
“During her tenure at the Company, Mrs Ndlovu oversaw an ambitious growth strategy that saw the organisation making significant inroads into key deliverables such as digitisation, infrastructure modernisation, international branding as well as a pleasing performance in business growth and customer satisfaction”.
The ZITF Company is a Bulawayo based international exhibition and event organiser offering innovative opportunities for social and business interaction across all social and economic actors globally.
It is a platform that brings all socio-economic actors together so as to generate business. — New Ziana.
