JOHANNESBURG. - Zimbabwe international forward Khama Billiat scored his first league goals for Kaizer Chiefs who, however, threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership at FNB Stadium last night.

His countrymen, Evans Rusike and Matthew Rusike, were also on target for their sides SuperSport United and Cape Town City last night.

Ranga Chivaviro, who is said to have been born in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, also scored a late equaliser for Baroka FC in their 1-1 draw against Tapiwa Kapini’s Highlands Park last night. In Johannesburg, Billiat broke the deadlock for Chiefs ten minutes before the break, slotting a low shot past Celtic shot-stopper Patrick Tignyemb afer going clear inside the box.

But they surrendered a two-goal lead to settle for a point.

Free State Stars and Cape Town City played to a thrilling 2-2 draw at Goble Park. Matthew Rusike pounced on an error by Olivier Kwisera to find the back of net just afer five minutes for Benni McCarthy’s charges.

But the Cape side needed a late equaliser to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw.

SuperSport United handed former coach Eric Tinkler a losing start to his Chippa United career, with a 2-1 triumph in the Absa Premiership.

The new era began for Chippa following the exit of Dan Malesela from the hot seat last week afer only three matches.

It was United with the earlier bit of defending as Ronwen Williams was forced to pull off a World class save off a strike from Kurt Lentjies on 12 minutes.

Afer that, James Keene gunning for his first goal since arriving, placed a header inches wide off Daniel Akpeyi with the Nigerian well beaten.

Within two minutes, Teboho Mokoena celebrated his national call-up with the opening strike afer beating Akpeyi from close range.

Chippa were close for an instant response, but the effort from Mark Mayambela from outside the box found the side-netting on 19 minutes.

The Port Elizabeth side were level on 26 minutes when Lentjies made no mistake with a calm finish inside the box.

A header from Grant Kekana from outside the box sailed over the top of the crossbar on 38 minutes, with United looking to regain the lead.

Zimbabwean Evans Rusike continued his scoring streak from their last encounter, turning his marker for a low finish on the rebound five minutes to halfime.

In added time, Fagrie Lakay directed a curling shot straight to clutches of Akpeyi afer a nice layoff from Keene. - Sports Reporter/Kick-Off.
