DeMbare dismiss crisis talk
DYNAMOS board chairman Bernard Marriott Lusengo has insisted there is no crisis in the Glamour Boys’ boardroom and also laughed off claims of graf allegedly being levelled against treasurer Moses Chikwariro.
Lusengo last night said it was not possible for one man to loot money from the club as there were was no single signatory of the Dynamos accounts.
The Dynamos leader said the club had a budget committee, which meets every Monday, which always dealt with and approved expenditure.
“Dynamos is not a one-man club and it would not only be unfortunate but very mischievous and highly defamatory to accuse the treasurer of any misappropriation of funds, fraud or dipping his fingers in the cash box.
“The club has procedures and we have a competent executive committee of bankers and businesspeople and they are men and women of integrity who would not want to have their names and images tarnished by such false claims.
“Every Monday the budget committee meets and discusses and approves the expenditure and that is not done by one person. We do have the audits to prove that,’’ Marriot said.
Marriot also maintained that coach Lloyd Mutasa and his men were getting ready to resume their Premiership assignments with an away trip to Bulawayo City at Barbourfields on Saturday.
“I can confirm that the players are training and will train again tomorrow before they leave for Bulawayo on Friday.
“I must say ever since we strengthened our executive committee with further appointments there has been some stability in the operations of the club.
“Of course, we have not reached the targets in terms of the objectives that we have set for ourselves going forward, including marketing our brand more aggressively, but we are working on the plans and the structures.
“The executive has a number of proposals they have and programmes which they will soon roll out but we have noted that for the Dynamos brand to realise its full potential, we need to have stability throughout our structures.
‘‘As the board, we are happy with the job that has been done individually and collectively by our management committee,’’ Marriot said.
With hopes of the championship title or even a second-place finish being a distant dream now, DeMbare are now hoping for a strong finish that could help thrust them into the Premiership top eight.
The Harare giants will also be hoping to finally lay their hands on the Chibuku Super Cup that has so far eluded them.
