CHIRUMANZU Rural District Council has built two new clinics at a cost of $83 000 in Doroguru and Chimbindi, which are set to serve more than 13 000 villagers.

Chirumanzu RDC chief executive Mr Lovemore Chatikobo said the health facilities were built by council after residents had pleaded for a nearer clinic.

He said the building of clinics was part of the 100-day plan target and lauded the council for fulfilling some of its targets set under the 100-day plan under the new dispensation.

“Chirumanzu Rural District Council and its community worked tirelessly to have health services that are affordable and accessible to them and as part of the 100-day plan under the new dispensation we have managed to build clinics in Doroguru Village as well as Chimbindi at a total cost of $83 000.

“The clinics will be servicing villagers around the two villages and it has made them to have easy access to health services for free as compared to the past where they had to walk for more than 27 kilometers to Hama Clinic to get help,” he said.

Mr Chatikobo added that villagers have been facing many difficulties leading to high death rate due to failure to get medical attention in critical situations.

“Our mission is to be a leader in the provision and promotion of goods and services. We worked tirelessly to provide better welfare for our people hence they will be offered better services for free at the new clinics,” he added.

He added that the clinics are yet to be commissioned and will create employment for people around the district.

“The clinics are set to be commissioned anytime soon and will create jobs for qualified nurses around our district hence we are proud of the great achievement we have done as council,” said Mr Chatikobo.
