Response to “No going back on 2 cents tax — ED” Great article, well said Mr President. We are with you and everyone wants our economy to boom. However, the Government should be transparent as to where the money will go and who we owe. —@ RMaikoro. *** Response to “Privatisation deadline for parastatals” Professor Mthuli Ncube has surely hit the ground running. I like his energy. Let’s hope all this will materialise to something good. All the best Professor; we are counting on you. — @malikagary. *** Response to “Chamisa not Messiah, says Govt” He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Our economy has nothing to do with Chamisa, but what we have to do as a country. We are going to make our economy better without Chamisa. — @opakureva.

Response to “Uproar over increased council water cuts” These guys are worse. Not a single thing they do is right. After the outbreak of cholera, instead of making water readily available they are cutting supplies! One starts to wonder what that means and if council cares for the people? They should introduce water meters and stop blaming consumers who owe money to the council. Stop giving water to those in debt and make sure the ones who want to pay get clean water. The situation currently is that those who pay are being disadvantaged and that is not fair. — Nyasha Mutizwa.

*** Response to “Opposition attempting to scare its way to State House” Exactly what they are good at. Zimbabweans won’t be shaken by the usual tactics. If we have survived it before, we will survive again. In the meantime, we are counting on President Mnangagwa to put these people in their place. —Byron Masakadza.

Some shops have started charging in US dollars only. Where are we supposed to get the US dollars under these circumstances? Why is it that shops are the ones who start the commotion every time? — Brenda Nherera. Responses to “No going back on 2 cents tax — ED” If we want a better economy we should pay the 2 cents tax. The problem is not the tax, the problem is the people of Zimbabwe who don’t want change and are there to criticise every policy made. — Taurai.

*** People need to understand that this is for a good cause. Some may think because of corruption in this country, the taxation will yield nothing. But let me remind my fellow Zimbabweans that, corruption is condemned in the new dispensation. Everything the Government is doing is for the good of us all, let’s give it time to manifest. — Makomborero.

*** Response to “Producers speak on

panic buying” Unscrupulous businesspeople charging exorbitant prices should be dealt with or lose their operating licences. What is the reason for hiking prices if producers have not increased prices? We should not tolerate that behaviour. — Tiriparwendo.

*** Response to “Minister reviews new

tax regime” We need to pay our income taxes and this is just a way to share the tax burden with those in the informal sector who were not paying any tax. The country needs money and we have to pay. Otherwise don’t complain about debts.
