The greater God in us

1 John 4:4; Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. THE passage from which this verse comes warns us not to naïvely believe any spirit without first ascertaining that it’s of God. We’re warned that the spirit of the Antichrist is already in the world.

In today’s verse we’re told that we’re of God. Beloved believer, you’re of God and not of the devil. By the precious blood of Jesus you were redeemed. You were freed from the hold of the evil one thereby overcoming the spirit of the agents of the Antichrist.

You therefore cannot be misled by false prophets into submitting to evil spirits you overcame.

Please notice that the Bible uses the past tense. You already overcame and not trying to overcome. As I have repeatedly emphasised, you’re in the accomplished works of Jesus. We’re not fighting for victory, but from victory.

The Spirit of God in us is greater than the spirit of the Antichrist which is in the world. We don’t live in fear, confusion and bondage because the winner, Christ, is in us. Please remember we’re the temple of God and the power of God resides in us.

The heart of the believer is the seat of the domain of the Godhead and there’s no greater power than this. We’re not swayed by false doctrines, we overcame them. We yield to the Spirit of God and we don’t answer to evil spirits.

Your prayer: Abba Father I thank you that I am your child and I belong to you. I’m grateful for the victory in Christ Jesus by which I am an overcomer of evil schemes. I thank you for your presence in me whose power is greater than satanic deception. In Jesus’ name I rejoice in confidence. Amen.

Your confessions: I am of God and a child of God. I am not misled nor intimidated by evil.

I am victorious. I overcame evil. The unassailable power of God is in me.
