Nichrut appoint Ngore new coach

NICHRUT have appointed former ZIFA High-Performance Committee member Michael Ngore to take charge of the team’s remaining four league matches as they push for survival.

The Shurugwi-based side’s technical department was left handicapped following the injury to coach John Nyikadzino who was involved in a road accident on the Shurugwi-Gweru highway on his way to a league match against Harare City.

In his absence the miners have struggled in the elite division and are now deep in the relegation zone following their defeat to FC Platinum at home on Saturday.

Last week they had settled for former Dynamos assistant coach Philemon Mutyakureva to take charge of the team, but the deal collapsed after they failed to agree on personal terms with the gaffer.

Nichrut chief executive Admire Hapazari told The Herald that they have roped in Ngore to help the team avoid demotion with plans to engage the former ZIFA coaches administrator full time as assistant to Nyikadzino. Ngore, who at some point acted as ZIFA technical director, is a holder of a CAF A coaching Licence.

“Yes that is very true, Ngore is now our coach and has started training with the team,” said Hapazari.

“Coach Nyikadzino is still injured and is likely to be out for the rest of the season. We have now agreed to have someone to come and help those who are already with the team.”
