A RUSAPE woman is on the run after she allegedly stoned her husband to death following in a dispute over alleged infidelity.

Abigail Madanhe (32) is alleged to have stoned her husband, Isaac Kapiya (50), who was suspecting her of seeing another man behind his back. Police confirmed the incident. “The suspect, Abigail Madanhe (32) and the now deceased Isaac Kapiya (50) were married and residing at Moresta Farm in Masedeza Village under Chief Makoni in Rusape,” said Manicaland police spokesperson Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakowa.

“Reports are that on Christmas Day at around 3pm, Kapiya saw his wife talking to another man at their homestead and suspected that the two were having a love affair.

“He then had an argument with Kapiya accusing her of adultery which ended up with him picking an iron bar and striking his wife on the head.”

Insp Kakohwa said Madanhe armed herself with bricks and attacked her husband.

He also said Madanhe’s brother, Trymore Rakandwa (27), joined the fracas and started fighting in his sister’s corner.

Insp Kakohwa said upon seeing that she had seriously injured her husband, Madanhe went to the police and misrepresented to them that Kapiya had fallen on his own.

After informing the police, Madanhe reportedly disappeared from the village. A post-mortem revealed that Kapiya had some bruise on his body and a swollen head, according to police.

Reports are that Rakandwa confessed to teaming up with his sister to attack Kapiya, leading to his arrest.
