Fans welcome Game Plan return

- Sports Reporter

LOCAL football fans have welcomed the return of ZTV’s flagship football magazine programme, Game Plan, to their screens after the show took a prolonged break since the end of last year.

Fronted by veteran sportscaster, Charles ‘’CNN’’ Mabika, who usually discusses a number of issues dominating local and international football with some panellists and a guest, the show — broadcast live from Pockets Hill in the capital — has turned into one of the most popular programmes on ZTV.

The programme marked its comeback last Wednesday.

The Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association welcomed its return.

‘’It’s a very informative programme for our game and we had missed it in the past few months when it was offline,’’ ZNSSA boss Eddie ‘’Mboma’’ Nyatanga said.

‘’It’s nice to have a programme that concentrates more on local football because all that we were getting on television, especially DStv, was European, South African and Zambian football.

‘’This is a very important year for our game, with the Warriors set to qualify for the AFCON finals, and we need a lot of great debate around that.

‘’Then, of course, we have a lot of our players now in foreign lands and we need to see them playing on television and that is why a programme like Game Plan is very important.’’
