Responses to “Zifa turns down Cosafa Cup” Good decision. You can’t make a budget for such an event with this economic situation. The Minister of Sport is very smart, can’t withstand regional embarrassment. — Zimbo.

*** Sensible and that should have been the position from the beginning. We need to now prepare for Afcon 2019, get our boys in shape, their incentives etc. Develop junior football before we host tournaments that may not add value. — @Connmwanawashe.

*** We can use the resources to prepare for Afcon 2019. — @Moronmofoto.

Response to “SA reaffirms

support for Zim” Cde Editor, it’s very encouraging to hear a strong voice from the SA government against economic sanctions bedevilling our economy. This should send a strong message to our local opposition political leaders, who support sanctions. MDC-A leaders should stop and introspect about their political future, given that their politics is not accepted in Africa, but only in Western neo-colonial circles. Zimbabweans who are suffering because of the satanic sanctions will never brook any MDC-A party governing in Zimbabwe. Zimbabweans will, in the end, win against the Western and MDC-A evil violence brewing against our elected Government. — Professor Mzvinavhu.

*** Response to “We’ve confidence

in ED, says China” President Mnangagwa is a visionary leader and is set on developing Zimbabwe to a middle income economy by 2030. China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and it is supporting Zimbabwe to achieve the same. Shared economics! — Max.

Responses to “Tendai Biti found guilty” Thank you Lord. But why such a light sentence? Not fair at all. If he appeals he must get up to 10 years imprisonment with hard labour. — Mutiriwofanza. *** Biti should desist from inciting violence considering the party position he holds, he is very influential to the party. — Khumalo.

*** While the conviction is welcome, the sentence imposed on Biti is a travesty of justice. Biti’s illegal announcement of wrong results directly caused the violence by MDC-A supporters on 1 August that led to the death of six people. Biti deserved a harsher sentence. A $200 fine trivialised the offence. — BM

*** Responses to “Forex deposits

hit US$600 million” This is the progress we want in the country. It shows our country has a direction and is reshaping. Keep it up our President and Government. — Tinoda Arnold Mafuwa.

*** RBZ should negotiate with banks so that bank charges on FCAs are lowered from the current $5 per month to say zero. This will attract mostly ordinary citizens to open FCAs. FCA accounts should also attract interest. If an individual deposits $200 at the start of the year, by year end they should earn an interest of up to $140. One would rather keep their precious forex under the pillow, if there is no interest at all. — Goto.

*** Slowly, the policies being pursued by President Mnangagwa and his economic team led by Prof Mthuli Ncube are beginning to bear fruit. Confidence is returning to the financial system, hence the accumulation of US dollar deposits. Vision 2030 is within sight. — Bevan Musoko.
