Minister Tatenda drops new album

- Arts Reporter

RISING gospel musician Minister Tatenda will launch his debut album titled “Ndozvinoita Mwari” at Theatre in the Park on Saturday.

The musician, who has done works with various other musicians including Sabastian Magacha, will unveil his studio first born at an event that is expected to be graced by fellow singers.

Minister Tatenda - real name Tatenda Chimbamu - has been in the music industry for more than five years and he believes he is now ripe to go it alone.

With Magacha, they featured on a collaboration titled “Declaration” that was done by Jehovah Jireh Chosen Generation Ministries International choir in 2016.

Minister Tatenda has been a minister with the choir for many years and is known for his silky voice of praise and worship.

The beginning of his studio journey was in 2013 when he did two songs with Mono Mkundu. He is now ready to conquer the gospel music terrain with a complete album.

“The album was inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is an album that preaches the greatness of the Lord. All songs on the album speak to souls in different ways. I am happy because it has always been my dream to do an album,” said Minister Tatenda.

He said the word he gets from his church leader, Apostle Dr Melody Sibanda, had enriched his soul.

“I have learnt a lot from the woman of God. She always gives revelations that speak to the soul. This album is rich lyrically because of her teachings.”

Some of the songs on the album include “Handifi Ndichararama”, “Mweya Mutsvene”, “Muri Simba Rangu” and “Chiremba Ndimi Jehovha”.
