When you are filled, you are not afraid

- Bishop Dr B. Manjoro Dunamis

THE Holy Ghost is like water unto the fish; one cannot survive or sail through without Him. We are protected, lifted up and led by His covering; He ministers to us all the time.

Acts 2; 13-18 reads: “Others mocking said, these men are full of wine. But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, You men of Judea and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words; For these are not drunken , as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by prophet Joel; and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”

Last week we saw the disciples in the upper room, at one place, in one accord, suddenly a sound as of a rushing mighty wind was heard and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. The same Peter, who denied Jesus because of fear, when he was filled, came down with the disciples to the people who were at a conference and he spoke boldly. Those who heard them speaking in different languages could understand what the tongues meant; others said “they are filled with new wine”; why were they likening the Holy Ghost to beer?

Peter defended them saying these men are not drunk but it is that which was spoken by prophet Joel, that you shall prophesy, others will interpret tongues, others will convey messages from the above, telling the deep secrets from the heart of God. In Corinthians, it says that they will all prophesy, we may not all function in the office of a prophet, but all can prophesy, including you my brethren in Christ.

Drunkards

Today I’m going to speak about the reason why they likened the filled disciples to drunkards. When you are filled, firstly you are not ashamed to do things, fear goes and you won’t hesitate to sing or to do what you are supposed to do. Get tired of just coming to church to sit and be a bench warmer; this is the time when everybody must arise and partake in the worshipping of Christ. As you worship, His presence will come down for the bible says “he inhabits in the praises of His people”.

Get this, God’s presence does not come through preaching but as we praise and worship; during that time, don’t look at how your neighbour is doing it. Be filled, drunkards do not care what anybody has to say, when He comes, those who assist others in church [ushers] will be few. He must not be sidelined or come one day and the next three days He disappears, the Spirit of God must be part and parcel of whatever you do.

He must be close by when you are driving, eating or praying, that way you will do it in your own way. Do you know, when He completely fills you, driving home will be impossible as you will need a driver to take you? The church must be full of drunkards; it is not about how the pastor ministers to you but the Spirit of God will be moving everywhere. When power hit you and you fall down, it does not mean that you are filled; but when you speak in other tongues and sing in an unknown language, then you will be sure that He has filled you.

They were filled and began to speak, whatever the Lord gives you that time, do utter that. Let this be your time for God to visit, the Holy Spirit must be in abundance, you will notice that some things you were afraid of, getting restless and even weeping about, is nothing less than a shadow. This point in time be filled, get drunk in the Lord, utter tongues of angels and of fire. I persuade you not to be satisfied without being filled; Start singing like a drunkard for in the Holy Ghost that’s where the anointing is, power to pass through fire and even to open closed doors. Just yield yourself to the Holy Spirit and He will fill you, and things will turn around for your good.
