PREPARATIONS for the 12th Edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani-World Tourism Expo 2019 are on track, with more than 100 international buyers expected to attend, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority acting chief executive Mrs Rita Likukuma has said.

The expo will be held in Bulawayo from September 12-14.

Briefing the media in Harare yesterday, Mrs Likukuma said registration had opened and they expected over 100 international buyers.

“Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo will be held from September 12 to 14 at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre, also known as the ZITF Centre,” she said.

“Registration has opened and exhibition space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Therefore, we urge exhibitors to book early to avoid last-minute disappointments.

“The 2019 edition will host more than 100 international buyers from the various source markets. The screening criteria for international buyers will be strict as our focus is to host buyers who are serious about bringing business to Zimbabwe and who also have potential to invest in the tourism industry.”

Mrs Likukuma said the 2019 edition would surpass earlier editions due to interest from first time exhibitors.

“The 2018 edition registered 318 exhibitors and we envisage to surpass this given the interest that has come through from first-time exhibitors,” she said. “We want the 2019 edition to be bigger and better.”

Mrs Likukuma said a 10 percent discount will be awarded to exhibitors who register at the ZTA stand during the expo.

She said in addition to the 10 percent incentive, exhibitors who registered at the ZTA doubled their chances of meeting with international buyers.
