Lovezh, Soma in collaboration

- Arts Correspondent

SUNGURA musician Lovezh — born Lovemore Nherudzo — has joined forces with sungura star Somandla Ndebele on a new track titled “Pahushamwari”.

The two, who have been working together on live shows since 2017, decided to take a step ahead and create an Afrofusion sound about the power of friendship.

“I am trying to break genre boundaries and not be limited to a particular sound. Soma and I decided to record an Afro-fusion track and it came out so great.

In the song we address the importance of true friendship and it is a track that I know people are going to love and dance to,” said Lovezh. The Brave Stars frontman said working with Soma was an amazing experience and he got to learn a lot from the Sungura veteran. “I started working with Soma since 2017 when we were doing live shows together then our mutual friend and radio personality Lionel Mkandla came up with the idea of a collaboration after seeing how much we complemented each other. Soma is a veteran and I am learning a lot from him. It has been a great experience working with him,” said Lovezh. “Pahushamwari” was produced by Knowledge Nkoma and it is a single for Lovezh’s upcoming album to be released soon. “I am still perfecting my upcoming album and it will be released soon. This single is just a taste of what the album is going to sound like. The album also feature some tracks in Swahili,” said Lovezh.
