THE Zimbabwe Senior Rugby team, the Sables, are bracing for a tough battle against the Kenyan Simbas in the Victoria Cup on Saturday.

The match is set for Hartsfield in Bulawayo.

Sables team manager, Jason Maritz, says despite the first victories over Zambia and Uganda, they needed to acknowledge it will be tough against the Simbas.

“Kenya are a tough side, they are competitive and have a strong desire to win, this is an important game for both teams and the Sables will be on high alert,’’ he said.

“It is an advantage to win the first two matches and we know there is a lot of work to be done.

“Kenya will not be a walk-over but we will give it everything.’’

The build up to the match will feature two curtain-raisers, Bulawayo Metro 20 Girls versus President’s XV as well as high school clash between Milton High School and Midlands Christian College.

The Simbas arrived in Bulawayo on Tuesday and have been quoted by online media sources as having Isaac Njoroge as their only injury worry.
