Zinara hunts for CEO, FD

THE Zimbabwe National Road Administra­tion (zinara) is hunting for a new chief executive after Engineer Nancy Masiyiwa-Chamisa was fired for alleged gross incompeten­ce and abuse of office.

In a statement, the parastatal said the position exists for the purpose of providing leadership for the overall success of the organisati­on.

“The position exists to provide leadership for the overall success of the organisati­on, leading the developmen­t and execution of long-term strategies with the goal of increasing shareholde­r value, ensuring strategy alignment with short-term and long-term government objectives, leading and motivating subordinat­es to advance employee engagement and high performanc­e work teams,” said zinara.

“Among other duties, the CEO will be responsibl­e for leading the developmen­t of high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term Government objectives, mobilise resources for road constructi­on, maintenanc­e and rehabilita­tion.”

zinara said the chief executive will be tasked with ensuring that the organisati­on maintained high social responsibi­lity wherever it did business, oversees the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting and auditing.

“The CEO will oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission,’’ said zinara.

The organisati­on is also hunting for a financial director.

The position fell vacant after the dismissal of Mr Simon Taranhike for alleged abuse of office and gross incompeten­ce.

zinara board chairman Engineer Michael Madanha, who is leading the anti-corruption crusade at the parastatal, confirmed that the organisati­on was looking for suitable persons to fill the positions.

“Yes, we are looking for suitable candidates to fill the positions,” he said.

“They will have to start work as soon as possible for progress’ sake.

“But I am glad to say that there is a lot of improvemen­t at the organisati­on, everything is under control. We are working tirelessly to ensure that we do our mandated duties.”
