Response to “Fresh pay hike for civil servants on cards” Prices of basic commodities continue to increase on a daily basis. A pay rise for civil servants is most welcome. Nowadays, $500 is not enough to purchase enough groceries to last a month for an average family of six. The Government has done a very good job in considering its employees. We hope private sector companies will emulate.

That is the only way we can be able to survive in this economic situation. —@Chofamba.

Response to “22 new clinics for

Gokwe South”

This is a very good development. Medical attention has to be readily available to ensure that patients are taken care of. However, the Government has to make sure that the clinics are fully equipped. It is a good development to have clinics, but it does not help if patients are not attended to. More clinics have to be built in areas such as Epworth, which have a lot of people. This helps especially in times when there is an outbreak of certain diseases. People will not be crowded in one place. —@ GokweResident.

The Herald — Zimbabwe Response to “Sanitary wear for Zhombe girls” Many girls mostly in the rural areas have found it difficult to purchase sanitary wear. Prices continue to rise, and this has disadvantaged many. Government has to ensure that reusable sanitary wear is available in all areas in the country. Personal hygiene among girls will be improved. In urban areas, girls also need sanitary wear as they cannot afford it. — Tsepo.

Response to “rolls UNICEF out 12k science kits to primary

schools”

It is important that the United Nations has helped us to develop our primary schools. After all, education is the key to success. We have to tackle poverty at the grassroots, and this begins at primary school. Some pupils in schools are failing to receive adequate learning materials because their parents cannot afford them. This is a very good move. — Tawananyasha. Response to “Storm victims in need of emergency shelter”

Let us help those who have been affected by the natural disaster. We can as well help them with groceries and other amenities. Just like we managed to help the victims of Cyclone Idai, we surely can do this as well. That is what human ethics tell us, to help our brothers and sisters in need. — Muzezuru. Response to “Dealing with suicide, mental depression”

A lot of people suffer from depression, yet they do not even know that they need help. Some have been committing suicide for different reasons which could have been solved had they received help.

Once one feels or notices that another person is acting unusual and can consider committing suicide, counselling should immediately start. Some of the people who commit suicide usually talk about it to friends who perceive it all as jokes. This should really be taken seriously. — Masikiri.
