Chiwenga continues to shine
ZIMBABWE’S only accredited female FIFA match agent, Ellen Chiwenga, continues to shine.
She was nominated among a galaxy of sports personalities in England like Raheen Sterling and Sadio Mane for this year’s Football’s Black List.
Chiwenga was unveiled among the five successful nominations under the Commercial section for her role in marketing and developing the game through her EC Football Consultancy.
The other nominees include Dominique Delvaille, who is Nike’s women brand director; Donna Bartley a senior associate at Morgan Sports Law; Concave Football’s head of global operations GavinLee Ellison and Tobi Alabi, who is the founder of Heart 4 More Foundation and a football agent.
“Such an honour to be nominated on the Football Black List alongside so many amazing and talented people,” tweeted Chiwenga yesterday.
“Congratulations Ellen may you continue to raise our flag high and let’s take the promotion of football, especially in Zimbabwe, to the global stage for the benefit of our players and the nation at large,” posted the Sports Commission on their social media handles.
Last year Chiwenga was named the Best African Women making a difference in the Sports category at the African Virtuous Women Awards.
She was also appointed the brand ambassador of the Pakistan club FC Karachi.
Football’s Black List has become the biggest, and most respected, celebration of African and Caribbean achievement in the British game.
