Response to “calls ED for calm in Malawi”

In Africa, most people have registered in their minds that if you don’t win, you have been cheated. Even if they are asked to bring evidence, they fail to raise enough, but just claim they won the elections. This has happened in Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho and now Malawi. It’s a chorus from opposition parties that lose. No wonder people no longer listen to the noise. — Masaisai.

Responses to “Council demolishes illegal roadside businesses”

Council should do the same with illegal church sites that have sprouted all over. In my neighbourhood, there are more than five such sites within a radius of a kilometre and all pleas with the local district office to have them removed have been in vain. — Augustine Chiswanda.

Response to “Govt to ease power, cash challenges” Minister, we are still experiencing fuel (petrol) challenges and it seems not to be getting better. There is assumed corruption at service stations. On February 1, 2020 a service station along Airport Road took delivery of petrol which was made available to motorists from 6pm to 7pm. The following day, only 40 cars were served and they said what was left was for account holders only. I hope a taxi company is the account holder at the service station as only its taxis were left in the queue. I think the responsible authorities, especially the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission, should seriously consider auditing service stations as the assumption is that fuel can be diverted to the black market during the night. Rampant corruption at service stations has to be stopped forthwith. — Concerned motorist.

Will council be targeting all illegal businesses? I’m talking about the hundreds of used car sales businesses all over the city, especially along Robert Mugabe Road in Eastlea, Newlands, Milton Park, and Chitungwiza?

The list goes on. Or is it just a few selective businesses and then when the energy and will runs out, it is business as usual? — Joe Public.

Response to “Amid a flurry of jokes, Kamambo finally finds

himself”

As far as I know, Kamambo was the instigator in the conflict. It would be naive for him to suggest that he was being influenced to fight wars with Chiyangwa. Kamambo was not supposed to even talk about lifting the ban because the so-called ban was not effective. No one influenced Kamambo. — Sasai.

Response to “Zupco brings joy to long-distance travellers” Zupco continues to give us buses from time-to-time and we are thankful for that. We have saved many dollars through using Zupco buses and kombis to and from different destinations.

However, the system should be improved to make sure that it is transparent. Also, Zupco authorities should ensure that their drivers are not misusing the system. There are a lot of complaints from people who have encountered different problems from different Zupco buses. More should be done. — Max.
