Response to “Govt acts

on roller meal” Although inflationary pressures are pushing production costs upwards, withholding stocks as retailers reportedly did was not the best way of communicating the need for a price increase. This fuelled the black market of the few bags of the commodity which were trickling onto the market and subjecting the intended beneficiaries of the programme to hunger, thereby fighting Government supply of the commodity. — Nobleman Runyanga.

Response to “Floods kill one,

21 families marooned” Thanks to the CPU, Air Force of Zimbabwe, Sub Aqua Unit and other stakeholders assisting families in Binga. There is need for Zimbabweans to join forces and contribute to those affected by floods. Donations, in cash, material or kind will go a long way in helping out these families. — Tatenda.

Response to “Editorial Comment: Enforce mono-currency,

bring offenders to book” The liberation war took long to win and it was more brutal because of some of us who were benefiting from the oppressive system. We had people who supported the system partly out of ignorance and also out of greed and malice. Today we have similar people amongst us, for example Chamisa and company. A lot of people have become greedy, but more are just interested in derailing the efforts to improve the economy. The greedy ones are found mainly in the informal sector while most of those with ulterior motives are in business. Just like in the liberation struggle that was awash with sell-outs and made the prosecution difficult, the situation now is similar and we must brace ourselves for a long and hard fight against these greedy people and regime change agents. — Masaisai.

bus in accident”

Zupco drivers should drive with caution, just recently there was another ZUPCO accident on the Bulawayo-Beitbridge road near Chipangali Wildlife that also claimed lives. There is no need for them to speed and put the lives of people in danger. Authorities should meet with their staff and discuss their terms of service. — Melon.

Response to “Marriages Bill has

good intentions”

True, the clause would have protected both the child and mother from losing out when the union broke down. Removing it will not stop illegal unions, in fact it will increase the number of street kids, prostitution and single parent families. — Sasai.
