Response to “Machete robbers strike again” Machete gangs have been troubling us for a long time now. There have been many cases of machete gang robberies and I am glad that police are taking care of the situation. What we need to do as a country is avoid travelling at night and in places where they have been seen. Also, it is important that police gear up their dedication into finding the culprits and severely dealing with them. Otherwise, if we tolerate them, they will grow and continue worrying us in the future. — Chofamba.

Response to “COLA joy for pensioners” Prices of basic commodities are rising on a daily basis, further straining citizens’ pockets. It is pleasing that the Government is reviewing salaries to ensure that people do not struggle in this economy. Even private companies should learn from the Government so that families can sustain a decent living. — Carol Tawananyasha.
Response to “Calls to punish
roller meal cartels soar”
The best way to cushion people is to make sure the actual money goes directly to them and is linked to them actually being productive. This can be done through reducing the tax burden, reducing the costs (e.g. tax breaks on inputs etc) around starting businesses and availing entrepreneurial training, availing finance for start-ups to deserving people who go through proper training and evaluation of business. Government should also allow access to land or exchange of land, so that productive people can move into the land at minimal cost as this is the biggest problem we have right now. Another simple way is to have people paying for goods and services at normal market price and then applying for refund where they will be required to demonstrate their need. It is eventually prone to corruption as well, so it should only be a stop gap measure. — Beautiful ones are not yet born.

For starters, why did we give him money to “refurbish” silos. What does he know about construction? Those silos are not ordinary type of construction. They are not only serious works of civil, structural or mechanical engineering in our landscape at Chegutu, Norton, Banket, Lion’s Den and Concession, but also distinct and peculiar landmarks of our dear country. — Mura Costa Tarabuku.

He is naughty and should be brought to Parliament. He probably misused the money and is coming up with excuses, go in there and explain your position! The truth has always won the marathon race as lies can only lead to the sprint which is unsustainable as the race continues! — Truthhurts.
Response to “Council starts Gwanzura renovations”
The toilets at Gwanzura need no renovations, they need demolition. They cannot be renovated. The stands, yes, they suited the times then, when the good Mr Gwanzura constructed the stadium ( MHDSRIP), but please not this day. — LKJ.
