The extent of the corruption in some public and private enterprises in Zimbabwe borders on economic sabotage on the part of the heartless wolves hiding in professional robes who lead those companies. The recruitment process of candidates to fill key public and private sector positions should be thoroughly reviewed even if it means putting a new recruitment paradigm in place to achieve the pressing goals of Vision 2030. Go beyond possession of mere degrees by candidates; while it is good to recruit graduate personnel, it is better to realise that certificates do not turn anyone into a saint. I think it is not balanced for the Government to concentrate on the public sector only thereby giving the impression that the private sector is corruption-free. The private sector too needs to be thoroughly scrutinised from the vegetable market, the tuck-shop, right through to big corporates. Bad business practices must be urgently rooted out of the society regardless of the scale of the business. Is it fair to pay $9 for an item through swiping while paying $5 in cash for the same item? Corruption starts from small things. — Hey.
There is no crisis in Zimbabwe. What Zimbabwe is fighting is Covid19 just like other countries. Thank you Secretary for Information @ nickmangwana for making this clear. You nailed it. — Paidamoyo Mutsvairo.
*** Individuals should play their part by observing social distancing and wearing masks. It’s a collective responsibility to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. — Myself.
