Responses to “Stands scam lands city director in court”

The City of Harare needs thorough cleansing as almost everybody is corrupt. The problem is that these workers see the city fathers engaging in corrupt activities and they also follow suit. A commission to run the affairs of the capital city is the way to go. — John Sigauke.

This madness of filling up public open and recreational spaces without due diligence and research has to stop forthwith. This chap knows better as he is an “urban planner.” It’s pure corruption. Mabelreign is completely clogged up now with rampant crazy, unthoughtful filling up of public open spaces. — Murambiwa Tarabuku.

Response to “Man fetching water drowns”

The city councils have let us down. If the MDC-A was serious about service delivery, it could have used the opportunity to make sure councils deliver services to residents timely. Instead, the MDC-A is busy finding faults with ZANU PF while service delivery fails. Roads now have gullies and even Harare does not have water and the MDC-A councils remain silent. It is very sad that whilst the likes of Biti now focus on the possible manipulation of the auction system, he is very silent and deaf to service delivery. MDC has been running councils since 2000 so where are the spaghetti roads Chamisa was promising voters? How then is the MDC expected to provide nationwide roads when it cannot even provide one decent street in Hatfield, Dzivaresekwa, Mabvuku, Highfield and Budiriro etc? It seems people in the cities, who call themselves educated and smarter than the rural people are blinded by their hatred for ZANU PF that they see no wrong in what the councils are doing. — L. Makombe.

Responses to “Govt initiates Kasukuwere extradition”

South Africa is our neighbour. I am confident that it will respond like an African country. In the African set up, a disobedient and mischievous child cannot wilfully break family rules in the hope of getting succour and refuge from the neighbours’ compound because the neighbours are also his parents. They will hand him back. In Africa, a child is raised by a community, which includes his or her neighbours. Zimbabwean citizens, therefore, expect Kasukuwere to be back home soon to face the country’s courts over the various allegations which he is facing. — Nobleman Runyanga.

We should put in place proper accountability and auditing systems in land management, be it municipal, city, town or farms so that we know who is buying what before running into losses. Robust processes and procedures are needed. — James Chikomero.

The only way to deal with land barons is to arrest and send them to prison. This will deter would-be criminals. People are losing thousands of their hard earned money to these fraudsters. — Mai Runya.
