Responses to “Khupe, Madhuku blast sanctions”

The nation must unite against sanctions. MDC-A should repent from unpatriotic and myopic politics. — Cde Mzvi.

Before the MDC broke into factions, it supported sanctions from the beginning. Tendai Biti and Welshman Ncube were sent by Morgan Tsvangirai to lobby for the sanctions when the US legislature was debating the ZIDERA Bill, which became the sanctions law. Biti and Nelson Chamisa travelled to US to lobby for the renewal of the sanctions law in 2018. Every year, they write to the US government to support the renewal of sanctions. We hail the change by Thokozani Khupe and Lovemore Madhuku as progressive and patriotic. — Cde Samanyanga Dotito

Response to “Caledonia on way to getting own local board”

Good idea. More technocrats should constitute the board. We have many qualified and degreed town planners who should be appointed. Thumbs up to the Government.— Eu.

Response to “EDITORIAL COMMENT: Zifa have finally seen the error of their ways”

This comment blames ZIFA for everything. The Zimbabwe national team finished top of the group in the last AFCON qualifying matches, even managing to upstage the DR Congo in Kinshasa. This kind of success, according to the author, is naturally attributed to proper planning of activities.

Now, my question to the author is: wasn’t it the same ZIFA that planned the qualifying rounds for the national team? If they planned that well to end up leaders in their group that included African football powerhouses like the DR Congo, why then does the author want to give the impression that ZIFA is completely hopeless? Covid-19’s arrival was similar to the arrival of Cyclone Idai.

Who could have planned for it and its aftermath? Sometimes it is nice to stand on the shores of a dam and blame rescuers for failing to save a sinking man.

This is what the author is doing here. After all, the match was finally played on time regardless. Under these trying circumstances, I think ZIFA managed to put some planning in place. Make no mistake, I am not saying ZIFA are not without fault. - Masaisai.

Responses to “Khupe, Madhuku blast sanctions”

This is a political milestone, as we hear some of our political opposition leaders denouncing sanctions also. What remains now is for the nation to hear from Chamisa, Biti and Sikhala joining Zimbabweans in attacking the satanic sanctions. We also expect the Ibbo Mandaza’s SAPES and other NGOs to denounce the sanctions. No one should support sanctions. ZCTU and other trade unions must join us also. Down with sanctions. - Cde Mzvinavhu (Prof).

For those clamouring for sanctions to remain in force who is benefiting from them? We are all suffering regardless of political affiliation. Those leaders blaming corruption and human rights abuse for sanctions are praying for whose super? Let us not be sellouts against our own motherland. - BomZ.
