Dealt a heavy blow
HIP- HOP rapper Stunner’s mother, Elizabeth Rose Chideme, who died on Sunday after a short illness was buried at St Michael’s in Mhondoro yesterday.
She died at Parktown Hospital early Sunday morning at the age of 70 and is survived by four boys.
Stunner, real name Desmond Chideme, said his mother’s death was a shock and sad loss to the family.
“It was shocking to receive news that she had died. We left her at the hospital after suffering from diabetes, fever and headache. She was tested for Covid-19 and the results came negative. I am in pain,” he said.
The ‘‘Godo” hit-maker said his mother was affected by polio.
“She raised me and my other three brothers while disabled,” he said.
Meanwhile, Passion Java’s mother Senator Christine Rambanepasi is expected to be buried today at Glen Forest Memorial Park.
She died at the age of 65 on Sunday after battling cancer for a long time.
Rambanepasi was an MDC Alliance senator for Buhera and her son Passion Java through his social media page said:
“It is too much to take, but I thank God for all that I have done for my mother. She experienced my growth in the Lord and saw the Lord use me in many countries and the Lord blessed me enough to honour her and reward her for all she did for me and more although no one can really repay a parent.
“She left after living a fulfilled life.
Mother I love you and miss you already. Rest in Heaven,” he posted.
Her funeral wake was held in Houghton Park, Harare, where musicians, celebrities and politicians paid their last respects to Rambanepasi.
They took turns to enter the premises in line with Covid- 19 regulations and restrictions.
Zimdancehall musician Enzo Ishall performed at the funeral. Her memorial service was conducted on a social media page hosted by Apostle Batsirayi Java together with Passion Java.
According to Covid-19 regulations and restrictions funerals are still permitted, but with no more than 30 people.
People have to continue wearing face masks in public, observe social distance and always sanitise their hands.
