Response to “Challenges persist despite more buses added to Zupco fleet”

There is need for more buses in good condition. The private sector should also be roped in. ZUPCO should ensure private players do not dump their ramshackle buses to the parastatal as these are always breaking down and this does not improve the situation. People are turning to private vehicles and mushikashika because they do not have a choice. The mushikashika are also making a killing by charging double fares. — Johannes Kahanda.
