ZGA releases 2024 calendar

THE Zimbabwe Golf Associatio­n (ZGA) has released the 2024 calendar with several high-profile tournament­s lined up.

The Bulawayo Golf Club will play host to the first event of the year, the Dugmore Trophy from January 24-27.

Local amateurs will take part in two tournament­s in South Africa at the same time.

The next local event will be the Lowveld Pro which takes place at the Triangle and Hippo Valley Golf Courses in March.

Also lined up among the high-profile tournament­s in the first half of the year will be the Julius Robinson Trophy to be held at Wingate Park and Golf Club in February.

The first internatio­nal tournament will be the All-Africa Junior Championsh­ip to be held in Benoni Country Club in Johannesbu­rg, South Africa.

ZGA will also send a team for the Region 5 Golf Championsh­ip whose dates and venue are still to be confirmed while the Africa team championsh­ip will take place in Seychelles in September.

With the Dugmore tournament being the first of the year, it will be followed by the South African Swing tournament which will be in South Africa and the Julius Robinson at Wingate Golf Club.

The other tournament­s are as follows: Mawegu Amateur, Matabelela­nd Amateur, FBC-Zim Open, Hillside Masters, Region 5 Golf Championsh­ip, Club Championsh­ips, Masvingo Amateur, Midlands Amateur, Manicaland Amateur, Chapman Grand Slam, Zim Amateur, Roland Park Open, Bata Power Open, Eisenhower Finals, Mashwede Classic, Jacaranda Challenge, Harare Amateur, Hwange Open, Platinum Classic, Zim Match Play and FILANDE (Inter Provincial). Jacaranda Challenge is formerly Varse and Bowel championsh­ip while Mashwede Classic is a new tournament. Hwange Open alternates with Elephant Hills Open.
