AFTER the festive cheers of Christmas, the dawn of the New Year beckons, bringing with it the opportunity for students to embark on a journey of self-improvement.

At this stage, most of us fail to plan resulting in us planning to fail.

This is a modern restating of one of Benjamin Franklin’s quotes, ‘By failing to plan, you are preparing to fail”. It is also similar to what Winston Churchill said, “He who fails to plan is planning to fail”.

These are two great world leaders who knew a lot about success against adversity.

I hope everyone reading this is planning properly.

Making New Year’s resolutions is easy. Sticking to it is much harder.

And certainly, tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

As you prepare your 2024, bear in mind that the world wants a crop of students who are problem solvers.

If you find yourself reading this, it means you have been given another chance to live and pursue your dreams.

Many thanks to the Creator and I hope we are going to have another fruitful year.

As usual, I will continue writing what I see and reflecting on everything relevant to our journey in pursuit of a better tomorrow.

It should be clear as we make our New Year’s resolutions that we left home to change home and nothing should distract us from fulfilling this pledge.

We cannot deny that student life is very rich, encompassing many facets of life, including social, educational, work-related, emotional, and others.

The new year is an ideal time to set new goals and make new plans to help grow in the future.

As we start the new year, students might want to focus on education-related aspirations as well as personal achievements.

While it is easy to become over-ambitious, it is a good idea to set achievable goals for yourself.

Just remember, the world is waiting for students who are focus-oriented and who can provide solutions

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the demand for solution-oriented students is high.

As we face numerous challenges across various fields, such as technology, environment, and social issues, the need for creative, adaptive, and problem-solvers has become increasingly crucial.

As a new academic year begins, students often set new year resolutions to help them achieve their goals, improve their skills, and maintain a healthy balance between academics and personal life.

If you set New Year resolutions it can lead to significant improvements in your academic performance, personal well-being, and overall life satisfaction.

As we step into 2024, let’s embrace the chance to refine our thoughts, cultivate positive habits, and explore new avenues that contribute to your personal growth. Students believe that New Year is traditionally a chance to leave the bad behind inside us, get rid of some old habits, and make productive changes in our dayto-day lives.

These New Year’s resolutions help us set life targets and bring us closer to living the life we all desire.

In doing so, just know that after the campus life, you will be a problem solver, not a problem yourself.

One of the most common New Year’s resolutions for students is to improve their academic performance.

This may involve setting goals, such as achieving better grades or completing assignments on time.

Students across the globe anticipate fresh opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Fellow students maintain high expectations for academic success in the new year, aiming to achieve better grades, excel in their chosen fields, and secure opportunities for future endeavours.

As students enter the new year, they also hope to foster strong social connections and improve their emotional well-being.

When students prepare for the new year, several important steps should be taken to ensure a successful academic year ahead.

One of the first things students should do when preparing for the new year is to set clear, achievable goals for themselves.

The goals that every student sets to achieve their academic objectives include maintaining a specific grade point average or mastering certain subjects, as well as personal goals, such as improving time management skills or participating in extracurricular activities.

In good spirits, setting such goals provides us with a roadmap for success and helps students stay focused on their priorities throughout the year.

One thing that I know in today’s fast-paced society, students often find themselves overwhelmed by the multitude of responsibilities they face.

In most cases, this has led to a lack of planning, which in turn, has negatively impacted most students’ academic performance and overall well-being.

Fellow students let’s recognize the significance of planning in achieving our academic and personal goals.

A well-thought-out plan can help us stay organized, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently. This, in turn, can alleviate stress and anxiety, as we will have a clear understanding of what needs to be accomplished and when.

One of the most effective strategies for students to plan and manage time is by creating a daily or weekly schedule.

Make sure you set realistic goals and break them down into smaller, achievable steps.

Goals should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART), ensuring that they are both realistic and attainable.

Above all, students who fail to plan often find themselves struggling to manage their time effectively and achieve their academic and personal goals.

To overcome this challenge, your fellow students need to recognize the importance of planning and develop strategies for time management, goal setting, and prioritisation.

In whatever you are pursuing, bear in mind that the world is waiting for solution-based students. Best wishes for 2024
