Council to regularise 1 167 stands

HARARE City Council intends to regularise 1 167 stands in the city in terms of the provisions of the Urban Councils Act, town clerk Engineer Hosiah Chisango has said.

In a notice yesterday, Eng Chisango said the proposed regularisa­tion of the municipal land would be done in accordance with the law.

The stands targeted for regularisa­tion are in Warren Park, Kambuzuma, Hatfield, Waterfalls, Sunningdal­e, Strathaven, Mabelreign, Kuwadzana, Dzivaresek­wa, and Glaudina.

Eng Chisango said inspection of the stands earmarked for regularisa­tion and assignment of these stands are welcome through the end of January.

“Copies of the council resolution and detailed terms and conditions of the proposed regularisa­tion and allocation will be open for inspection at the office of the director of housing and community services at Remembranc­e Drive, Mbare, Harare until January 30, 2024.

“Any person who wishes to object to the above proposal must lodge their objection in writing to the town clerk on or before January 30, 2024,” he said.

In Warren Park the council would regularise allocation of 320 residentia­l stands depicted on Plan No TPX/ WR/06/16 in Warren Park Township to 3 Glory and Josiah housing pay schemes and allocate 80 stands to other applicants on the housing waiting list.

There are 178 residentia­l stands were depicted on plan number TP2F/ WR/12/23 in Warren Park Township to Sunungukai Housing Pay Scheme and the council would allocate 45 stands on the same plan to other applicants on the housing waiting list.

According to the notice, 121 residentia­l stands were depicted on Plan No TP2FWR/11/23 in Warren Park Township to the Arch Grace Housing Pay Scheme and council would allocate 30 stands on the same plan to other applicants on the housing waiting list.

The council said it would continue to regularise allocation of 24 residentia­l stands depicted on Plan No TP2F2443/1 in Warren Park Township to Sisonke housing pay scheme and allocate six stands on the same plan to other applicants.

In the notice council also said it would allocate 11 stands in Kambuzuma to applicants on the housing waiting list while also regularisi­ng allocation of 13 residentia­l stands depicted on Plan No TPR/ER/41/17 in Hatfield to 13 beneficiar­ies allocated from the housing waiting list.

Also 19 residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TPR/ER/11/16 in Hatfield would be regularise­d to 19 beneficiar­ies allocated from the housing waiting list.

There would be allocation of 29 residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TP2/ER/05/17 in Waterfalls Prospect to 29 beneficiar­ies allocated from the housing waiting list.

A block of 42 residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TPF/2F/ CR/05/15/1 in Sunningdal­e to Maworesa housing pay scheme would be regularise­d and 19 stands on the same plan allocated to other applicants on the waiting list.

The 15 stands depicted on plan number TPF/WR/28/20 in Strathaven would be allocated to various beneficiar­ies on the housing waiting list and the allocation 11 stands depicted on Plan No TPF/WR/89/18 in Mabelreign regularise­d.

The allocation of 147 residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TP2F/WR/23/12 allocated to Kuwadzana Consortium housing pay scheme and the 35 residentia­l stands depicted on Plan No TP2F/ WR/14/18/1 in Dzivaresek­wa allocated to Dzivaresek­wa Group 28 and Group 7 housing pay schemes would be regularise­d.

Twenty-two residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TPF/ WR/72/19 in Dzivarasek­wa allocated to Dzivarasek­wa Group 22 Housing Pay Scheme would also be regularise­d along with the allocation of 28 residentia­l stands depicted on plan number TPX/WR/09/17 in Glaudina allocated to Glaudina housing pay scheme and other applicants on the housing waiting list.
