ZPC Kariba offloads 9 players
ZPC Kariba, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, have offloaded nine players ahead of the new Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
The move was meant to establish space for new acquisitions as they seek to bolster the squad. The club’s preparations are already underway and they are looking forward to fulfil a number of friendly matches.
Club spokesperson Sylvester Mushininga said they intend to assemble a squad strong enough to finish comfortably this coming season.
“ZPC Kariba FC wishes to advise its valued fans that the preparations for the upcoming new season are well underway, as the team looks to improve upon their 11th place finish in the Premier League last year. The club is determined to intensify their preparations and leave no stone unturned in their quest for success in the 2024 season.
“One of the key aspects of the club’s preparations is the scheduling of friendly games. Not only will they be playing against junior teams to fine-tune their skills, but they have also managed to secure matches against some of the big teams in the Premier League. These games will provide valuable experience and help the players gauge their level against top-quality opposition.
“In terms of player recruitment, has
ZPC FC identified the need to add more competent players to their team. They have analysed the performances of each player during the 2023 season and have decided to part ways with those who did not meet expectations. This strategic decision aims to strengthen the team and create a more competitive environment within the squad.
“As for player movements, has
ZPC FC offloaded several individuals from their squad. Tapiwa Chilenga, Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe, Ian Nekati, Melvin Mukiwa, Takudzwa Mahori, Raphael Manuvire, Everson Feremba, Nigel Chipunza, and Johannes Sibanda are no longer part of
roster. This decision was made
ZPC FC based on performance evaluations and aims to create space for new additions who can contribute positively to the team’s objectives.
“Regarding changes in the technical team, there have been no alterations made thus far. However, it is important to note that this could change if deemed necessary by the committee. Any potential changes will be communicated promptly to ensure transparency and maintain a smooth transition,” he said.
