FORMER Chegutu Pirates and Chinhoyi Stars coach Richard Chunga has joined Come Again in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League.

Chinhoyi Stars were demoted from the Northern Region and Chunga remained floating in Division One.

Chunga, who coached Chegutu Pirates for close to a decade, is expected to transform the Kadomabased side in the 2024 campaign. Come Again finished the last part of last season under the guidance of Bigboy Mawiwi after wonder Ngoko, who had taken the team from Division Two, joined ambitious side MWORS at the beginning of the season.

In a statement, Come Again — who finished 13th last season — said they are looking forward to improve on the performance of last season.

“The mandate of the new coach is to ensure that the club keeps its position in the league and improve on our final standings and finish in the top four,” they stated.

Chunga said he is looking forward to the challenge and will try his best to bring back glory days to Kadoma.

“Come Again is the flagship team for Kadoma so there are lot of expectations from everyone from within the mining town. After Chegutu Pirate’s triumph last season, Kadoma fans also want that success and there is going to be a lot of pressure but it is nature of the job.

“I am looking forward to the challenge as I want to make history for the Kadoma community. The good thing is the appointment came before the start of the season and it will give us an opportunity to assemble a competitive and balanced team.

“Mashonaland West has a lot of talent and I hope we will bring smiles to the supporters every week,” said Chunga.
